“Who do you say I am?”
This question, asked by Jesus, is the pivotal point of our faith life. Was Jesus just a moral teacher, a good legalist with some helpful culture-changing ideas and a cynical perception of the Jewish and Roman authorities which we admire? Or was he just an arrogant, self-made street preacher who should by rights have remained a carpenter? Or was he God – Creator, Sustainer and Eternal Judge of the universe?
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
How we treat Jesus has a huge impact on how we relate to his teachings and apply them to our lives. Do we follow his example in welcoming the outcast, foreigner, widow and poor into our lives?
Today’s actions; SHARE the importance of Jesus in two ways;
- Read through some of our Stories from how God has used ordinary people to bring hope and healing to the lives of refugees and migrants across Europe and the Middle East; share one or two of them on social media, or read them with your friends!
If you do post on social media, tag @HowWillTheyHear!
- Make it your aim to perform five acts of random kindness above what you would usually do. They could be for family, friends or work colleagues – but make some an extra tea, offer a lift to someone, let that car driver out at the next junction…
Praise God that because of his love and his grace, we are able to show love and grace to others!
Thank God that he revealed himself to us through Jesus!
Pray that more people would recognise Jesus as Lord of all continents and source of all consciousness.
